Jackalope
In the rugged Western Mountains
A long, long time ago
A strange, strange creature was spotted
And he was called the Jackalope.
Now the Jackalope has antlers
Right on top his head
But instead of a lean deer body,
He has a bunny bod instead.
Some say old Jack is ornery,
Some say he’s mean as sin
But I can tell you first hand
He’s the angels’ kissin’ kin.
Whenever children are lonely
Or scared or feeling low
If they listen very closely
They might hear old Jackalope.
It’s almost impossible to see him
He’s fast as a streak of light
And he packs a bag of kisses
That will heal you and make things right.
So next time your feeling sad and blue
Listen to your inner wish
If it is good and brings you hope
You will feel a Jackalope kiss.
